The Christmas Dinner I Missed!

Posted on

How was your Christmas? I hope you had a lovely one. When it comes to Christmas, the 2 most important thing that comes to mind are FOOD and PRESENTS. One; cook for the heart and the other; given from the heart.

This year, I missed out on the wonderful food that my family has prepared. But not to worry, I have all of them documented by Uncle Yan. Enjoy the pictures below and keep your mouth close while you’re at it. They can be really tempting!

“Sveiki!” – it means, ‘hello’ in Latvian.

I’m back from another exhibition trip with Elaine. This time we went to Riga. The capital city and also one of the largest cities in Latvia. Latvia is situated in the Baltic Region of Northern Europe.

To get to Riga, we did this:

  • Flight from KLIA to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam (via KLM) ->12 hours 40 minutes (not including plane taxiing)
  • Flight from Schiphol Airport to Riga (via AirBaltic) -> 2 hours 30 minutes

(TO) In between connecting flights, we had 5 hours to spare. Therefore, instead of rotting at the airport specially when it’s only half past six in the morning, we took the train to Amsterdam Central where we took the streets and revisit the city.

But at the end of the week, and that was Friday night.. we finally decided Saturday was for MIL and Sunday was for my mom. Thank God weekends have 2 days and luckily, the venues we eyed on at the last minute were on our sides.

We booked to dine at Hanazen, a Japanese restaurant at Jaya One. We’ve been there before with the kids. It was memorable. Therefore, we thought it would be great dine as a crowd and hopefully to get the private room which we did.
