I am GIFTED!

Posted on

Christmas came and go;

Like the winter befriends the snow.

Good times are planted and sowed,

Pretty lights adorn the X’mas tree and glow.

What a wonderful day to share;

The love, the gifts and care.

All things beautiful and fair;

It’s a time to give and bear.

Family and friends united over food;

Too much of wine is never good.

Lets get together like fire and wood;

Blows in and out, gives one a boot!

I received gifts from young and old;

Pretty little things that I can hold.

Never ask for more; I’ve been told.

Feel for those who are alone in the cold.

Below are the gifts I received from dear ones…in non-favorably order whatsoever. So, check em’ out!

Parker Joy - Hubs

3 New Cardi's for Silent Nights - Mom & Dad

Santa's Brown-tastic Belt - Sis

My Jolly Inspirational Token - Ed & Steph

Shoe-gary Sweet Pumps - FIL

Merry Cream-mas - Cecilia

Tis' The Season to Be Chainy - Nancy

Let it Snow with Bears and Danglers - Starr & Jo

So Chrismas goes and comes the New Year

Plenty of  going-on far and near

Lets flash back the past and hold whats dear

Move on my friends,  relax and have a beer!

big beautiful eyes - the NEW and the OLD

Just got to share with you guys this amazing palette. I had my first ‘big beautiful eyes’ palette back when benefit just started its franchising in Sogo, Kuala Lumpur; and that was in 2007 or was it earlier than that?

Hmm… but it lasted for a couple of years and that was with light usage.

So, this year alas I got myself a new palette, a gift for myself! Hence the picture above.

I’m very proud of myself lol that I finally gave the old one up. It’s cheaper than before with the pricing of RM145 to RM125.

Hip-Hip-Hooray!

I’ve been SNUPPED

Posted on

Have you ever heard of Snupped? Well, if you are arching your eyebrows then just go ahead and click on any Snupped you see or if you’re lazy to open a new tab, just read along and I will pin-point you a little bit about Snupped and the brain(S) behind it!

WHO?

  • Believe or not, it was founded by 2 guys; Bryan and Darcy

WHAT?

  • Snupped is the world’s first company that allows you to custom create your very own gadget cases online

WHEN & WHERE?

  • In 2008, Singapore

WHY?

  • Bryan couldn’t find a perfect sleeve for his laptop so he created one then the creativity started and here they are!

WHY IS IT SO COOL?

  • tailored to fit = custom case
  • made to order = one of a kind
  • hand made = LOVE

I bought the first Snupped in 2008 when Snupped was still a baby. I customized a laptop zipper sleeve for my sister for her 29th Birthday. You may read all about it. Just click on the link below:

Elaine’s 29th Birthday

So, 3 years later I got my very own Snupped. And it was Snupped-ingly great! I chose my own print, own inner design, stated my gadget, made payment and waited for my Snupped to arrive. It took 25 days to reach me (felt like forever-and yes I counted). So, check out my Snupped casing for my Kindle.

Pretty HUH? Go get one for yourself today. Be it for your hand phone, laptop, camera, hard disk, e-reader or whatever gadgets that you have.

It fits perfectly and in the future, I might do a little pimping on my casing. My Kindle tends to slide out of the casing easily these days because I read my Kindle so often that the going in and out of the gadget made the casing less fitted than before. But, I still love my Snupped casing. Stay tuned for the pimping action!

The Mission @ Penang

Posted on

I call this The Penang Mission because we were really on a mission. Haha but there was some fun in it too. Ok this was last minute. Probably the most last minute luggage packing I’ve ever done. I was stressing over the luggage department. We brought Nancy to Batu Ferringhi, Penang for her ballroom dance competition. We left on Friday the 27th which was also Elaine’s Birthday which was also Hari Raya Haji. Nancy stayed at Bayview Hotel as she had booked months is advance whereas we had to settle at Holiday Inn because all the other hotels like Hard Rock Cafe, ParkRoyal were fully booked.

Poor lonely cloud

Hello… IPOH

Finally, we reached Penang

The kids going crazy over the hotel room

I had to wake up early the next day because I’m Nancy’s photographer. Admission is at RM50 per person so, the kids and hub remained in the hotel while I spent half a day at Bayview surrounded by giants draped in sparkly colorful textiles.

Nancy in her beautiful costume…

Yup… we need some help in this area… I do too :p

Getting ready.. GET GET getting ready

TADA!

Nancy & her dancing partner

She’s having butterflies in her tummy

So… besides snapping pictures of Nancy, I took some pictures of other dancers too.. I adore some of their costumes and some… NOT!

And.. Nancy sashays away!

Someone is GLAD with their performance

2 awkward costumes…

Waltz with fur

Even worse.. waltz with fur-balls

While we waited for results, Nancy and I chilled.. hanging around till there’s nothing else to do no more. Results came later in the day. Nancy got 3rd place in Novice. What a great dancer she is. She only took 1½ months of ballroom lessons and I guess she’ll go far if she keeps it up.

Uncomfy shoes removed… YAY!

With fellow dancer friend who ate bananas all the way

Tired but never camera shy

Bad bad shoes gave Nancy super deep blisters

I did not do anything.. and btw, she isn’t crying.. she’s just fooling around but the feet does hurt.

Alas all the hard nights’ work and the lost weekends… ended in a day

Besides the dancing, the lights and the blisters, the kids had their share of fun too. They went for a swim… they walked at the beach.. they even had room service too!

Para-sailing

Horse Riding

Guess who got a BUBU?

……awww

And guess who got a new haircut?

Bon Odori 2009

Posted on

Hey ya.. sorry that I haven’t upload pictures taken from the 33rd Bon Odori last Saturday which was held at the Panasonic Sports Complex in Shah Alam. I was down and am still down with some viral infection.. there’s the sore throat thankfully gone, the cough, the abdominal pain that visits me every other minute and the cold sweat which are all symptoms of the common cold. PHEW~

Anyway, the Bon Odori festival was an eye-opening. Both pros and cons. There were so many people and mostly were Malaysians’ wannabes. Arrgh kinda heart wrenching to see people ignore the policy of Strictly No Cosplay and Strictly No High Heels. They must be either deaf or blind. Then, they should have shown some respect to the culture. Why on earth should you wear kimono with heels or worse, sneakers!

Lots of genuine kimono-clad folks. They are so sweet and very humble. Very family oriented. I see them putting on a great show both on and off stage unlike the copycats who I think put off the genuine ones. Food was great but the queue was terrible. What’s so nice about the ice-shaving dessert anyway? Well, my kids love Japanese food. Ouch for our pockets. Hub said we spent almost RM200 for food and drinks.

It was also my first experience visiting a portable loo. Funny, it was cleaner than MidValley’s weekend loo. But I felt stupid because Judith and I were scrambling inside this tiny cubicle thinking how to use the flush and the water sink. So, I spent some time reading the manual. LOL!

Let’s get to the pictures!!!!

We parked very far away (Malay graveyard); we walked very very far

Kids seem to be loving it

First stop was YOKOMON ice-cream for the kids.. RM5 per cup.

Snacks for kids for later on

We sat in front of the flag poles and glued to it because it was jamming with humans

FOOD….

Unagi Sensei

THE CROWD….

Little boy sipping on Carlsberg

New trend.. band-aid on the nose

Everyone wants a piece of the ice-shaving action

THE STAGE….

Practice makes perfect

Tick Tock

When night falls

Look at the human fans and the hand fans.. woo hoo everyone was dancing

THE REAL DEAL….

THE OTHERS….

THE Right Kind of WANNABES….

THE One That Everyone Thought Was a Wannabe But Was The Real Deal

THE Wrong Kind of Wrong…. heels + fashion + hair

It was beginning to smoked. Perhaps using too much of charcoal as the cooking was freshly done then and there.

Before we left, I managed to get a picture with a few young kimono-clad girls. They weren’t really friendly haha…

Kids happy with their lights… looks like Joe’s eyes are glowing evilly.
We’ll go again next year..hopefully, it’ll be a better experience. I might get into the mood to wear a kimono top as well. I don’t think I can stand the heat wearing a fully clad kimono. I don’t know how they do it therefore, I salute those who wore it from top to bottom but the girls’ makeup were definitely moving towards gravity.
