Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh,
Level 6 of Pavilion, KL.
Why would one eat Bak Kut Teh in Pavilion? Never would we have thought of doing so but we did what we thought we wouldn’t, but believe me it ain’t that bad! (did I just did a tongue twister?) Bak Kut Teh @ ‘meat bone tea’ is a Chinese soup simmered with a mixture herbs and spices for hours to bring out the wonderful aroma that you can smell from afar (gosh I’m hungry oledi). And of course, you add meat, mushrooms, veges, intestines, etc. You can find Bak Kut Teh throughout Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and some say Indonesia.
The restaurant title was big enough but….
this super big huge enormous teacup caught our attention… made my Claytan.. btw, the table-wares were all made by Claytan.
And, the cups of tea cost RM15 a pack which was okay I guess when it’s shared by the 9 of us!
The dishes came all at once and we were hungry buffaloes… all were very herby.. the portions were a little small.. so when you eat here, just don’t check the prices.. haha
Come on kids, drink it up. The cups were so small that the kids can’t wait for another
The SILs’ doing their kawaii tea sipping pose
We gored everything on the table.. we ordered additional soup like so many times.. because every time the add-ons came, it came in a tiny bowl…
We actually had dessert too but didn’t quite snapped pictures of it. The bill summed up to more than RM300 which was expected because it’s Pavilion. Truthfully, it was delicious but I’d rather have Bak Kut Teh just like the old days complete with sweat and You Tiao.
